Julian Fricker aka Legz

Julian Fricker (Swiss-Romanian born 18.3.1988) or better known with their alter ego “LEGZ” is purely a product of Berlin ́s experimental drag scene.

Alongside starring in DJ Kozes music video of British singer Lapsley’s “Operator" (a gig that lead them to a sold out show in Berghain and O2 Sheperd ́s Bush London),  their self-proclaimed “alien cyborg drag“ practice is deeply rooted in political stances commenting on the alienation of queer non-binary bodies and their daily struggle in a heteronormative society. Julian aims to create utopian worlds that are informed by feminist science-fiction worlds and alien creatures, blurring the boundaries between the human body and machines.

Their participation in Black Cracker and Peaches’ reinterpretation of Mozart’s opera Cosi fan at the Deutsche Oper Berlin (2016) was Fricker’s first collaboration with a theatre house, followed by Theater Hebbel am Ufer (HAU) Berlin in 2019. LEGZ had cameos in different films, latest in “Das melancholische Mädchen” (Salzgeber, 2019) directed by Susanne Heinrich.
