Rafael Medina

Rafael Medina is a Brazilian photographer who graduated in Philosophy and Visual Arts. His work focuses on documenting queer underground nightlife in Rio and on male nude portraits which highlight the visibility of body diversity and (de)moralization of sex.

Rafael is also owner and creative director of FLSH Mag – an online magazine about sexuality. He is currently in Berlin working on a new project: “Skin Depth: +60”, a research on the sexuality of gay men over 60 years old as part of the Instinct art residency program.

At Instinct #4 - “You and me and something in between”, Rafael is going to show part of his research for the residency. The affection and intimacy between the photographer and the portrayed men plays a fundamental role in the images.
